  1. *Jaws,* I wholeheartedly disagree with. While it is obviously possible to be attacked by a shark, they do not actively target and devour people like in films. Throughout history, no recorded attacks have presented credible evidence to the contrary.

Studies over decades have proven that even most documented fatalities are «inquisitive bites» in which the shark takes a curious bite to inspect its target, realizes it’s human, and spits it out. They DO NOT favor the taste of us, that’s fact.

The fundamental concept behind *Jaws’* premise is «Rogue Shark theory», proposing that a single shark may stay in one area hunting specific food until resources are depleted, which has been debunked more times than Feminism’s wage gap.

Great Whites never remain in the same place for long periods. Like the majority of species, they are migratory. This old theory largely comes from lack of education in shark behavior + misleading coverage of the 1916 Jersey Shore attacks.

While a Great White was caught & killed back then, science has long since proven that the most likely culprit was a Bull shark, the only predatory species known for aggressive behavior and biting humans that can survive in salt & fresh water.

Peter Benchley, who is unanimously agreed to have been inspired by these attacks, admitted he regrets writing the *Jaws* novel and wouldn’t have if he’d known more about them. He also vocalized his contempt for the film, especially the finale.

*Verdict: Jaws could not happen and is not based in reality AT ALL. It was a fantasy born of ignorance directly motivating years of over-fishing that nearly drove multiple species extinct, which could’ve drastically upset oceans’ ecosystems.*
