Star Wars: The Last Jedi is so close, and anticipation is high! Luckily, for Star Wars fans, we’ve all got a few extra minutes of galactic action to look forward to when Episode VIII hits theatres next month.
The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson, announced the official run time of the movie, 150 minutes, making this the longest movie in the history of Star Wars.

The Last Jedi will just barely take the honor from George Lucas’ 2002 prequel, Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones, which ran a total of 142 minutes. The current crop of films have generally been shorter in run time with Star Wars: Episode VII- The Force Awakens running at 135 minutes, and Rogue One clocking in at 133 minutes.

With so many unanswered questions following The Force Awakens, we definitely need a few extra minutes of answers, am I right?

And the announcements don’t stop there. Johnson also cleared up any and all rumor that fan fave, Lando Calrissian would appear in Episode VIII. Spoiler alert, he’s not, so don’t go expecting to see him on the big screen.

John told EW QUOTE “No, and I don’t want fans to get their hopes up. He’s not in the film and it was never really something that came up. I mean, I loved that character. It would have been fun to see him, but it’s just not something that ever really had a place in the story.”

Welp. There goes our Lando dreams. Landreams. Crushed.

Buuuut that doesn’t mean we won’t get any surprise returns from some of Star Wars’ most beloved characters. The possibilities are endless when Star Wars: Episode VIII- The Last Jedi premieres on December 15th.
