We know that Shawn Mendes is dedicated to connecting with his fans on social media, so much so that he actually got a tattoo inspired by a fan tweet. But apparently he is off the grid right now, and we’re here to set the record straight on all the rumors.
What’s up y’all? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and you know I’m extremely dedicated to all things Shawn Mendes, so you know I freaked out when I saw headlines saying “Shawn Mendes Deletes Social Media.”
My first instinct was to go immediately to his social media profiles… and when I did that they were still there… so WHAT GIVES? Why is Shawn saying he deleted his social media?!?!
But thankfully, this is kind of fake news… with an emphasis on KIND OF!
At a recent pre-concert Q&A in Atlanta, Shawn revealed that just a few days prior he actually deleted the Instagram and Twitter apps off his phone.
And for now, he’s asked his manager to run his accounts.
Shawn stressed the importance of practicing self-care and just when I thought I couldn’t be more of a Mendes Army stan, this officially set me over the edge. Somebody get me a fan, I may faint!
But obviously there are people out there wondering if Shawn’s social media break has anything to do with his steamy, PDA-filled pictures of him and Camila Cabello surfacing online and thus breaking the internet.
It’s possible all the news just got to be too much for him because the pictures left many people wondering whether the relationship was just a publicity stunt.
One person shared this hilarious video and wrote quote, “Shawn and Camila after Señortita gets to #1 & they can finally end the PR stunt”
And another said quote, “Idk whose pr stunt flopped more: jake and tana’s or shawn and camilla’s.”
But all shade aside, it’s also VERY possible that Shawn just wanted a break from social media for no reason other than he just wanted some time off.
I know I took a week off just cause I needed a break and it had nothing to do with anything other than wanting to take some time for myself.
So I personally think until Shawn tells us otherwise, I’m just gonna go with that.
But I want to know what you guys think.

Can people just leave them alone like damn if they want to have a relationship let them they want to be happy they don’t want their relationship all of the damn social media!!!!!!
Why r people making such a big deal out of this it just gives shawn more reasons not to have social media on his phone and he only deleted the app people you need to calm down

Well you know what? He deleted because of the hate, and because of people assuming things and hurting both of them. People are just annoying
