We reported earlier this week that a Victoria’s Secret model let some HUGE news slip! The annual VS Fashion Show might actually be cancelled this year. And now Nikita Dragun is speaking out and clapping back at the brand for the anti-trans comments.

What’s up guys? It’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and as we reported earlier this week, Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik revealed that the annual Victoria Secret Fashion Show might not happen this year.

She told The Daily Telegraph that quote, “Unfortunately the Victoria’s Secret show won’t be happening this year. It’s something I’m not used to because every year around this time I’m training like an angel. But I’m sure in the future something will happen, which I’m pretty sure about. I’m sure they’re trying to work on branding and new ways to do the show because it’s the best show in the world.”

And since that news broke a couple days ago, the internet has been buzzing with reactions.

One in particular that stood out is Nikita Dragun’s. Nikita is one of our favorite YouTubers who is also trans.

Last year Victoria Secret’s chief marketing officer Ed Razek, sparked controversy for his comments about transgender and plus size models in an interview with Vogue.

When asked if he would ever have a more inclusive show he said quote, “No. No, I don’t think we should. Well, why not? Because the show is a fantasy. It’s a 42-minute entertainment special. That’s what it is. It is the only one of its kind in the world, and any other fashion brand in the world would take it in a minute, including the competitors that are carping at us. And they carp at us because we’re the leader.”

And ohhh did Nikita have some words for him.

Last year she posted this video of herself and wrote quote, “dear Victoria’s Secret, you said trans women can’t sell the “fantasy” so here i am as a TRANS WOMAN selling the FANTASY!”

And now that there are rumors of the show’s cancellation Nikita wrote quote, “Victoria’s Secret is CANCELLED! …no literally their show got cancelled this year oops.”

And she reshared her video from December 5th, 2018.

Fans are tweeting back at her praising her for the impact she’s made.

One person wrote quote, “we don’t want victoria’s secret, we want nikita’s secret”

And another said quote, “THE IMPACT OF THE DRAGUN”

And we have no idea whether or not Nikita’s video had anything to do with the show’s cancellation, but this is just proof that in 2019, if a brand doesn’t evolve with the times it’s gonna be left in the past.

But I really want to know what you guys think. Do you think Nikita’s video played a role in the show’s potential cancellation? And how do you feel about the show potentially being cancelled this year? Chat it out in the comments section below.

  1. “ItS GoNnA GeT LeFt In ThE PaSt” lmao this would be true if it hadn’t happened before, the community is strong. Some annoying ass trans woman who has paid for her “beauty” is never gonna cancel the show?

Trying hard now to save your ass VS????

Lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret has become infamous because of transphobic comments made by chief marketing officer Ed Ramzek last year. And though Ramzek has apologized for this, VS hasn’t really shown efforts to be more inclusive of trans models — until now.

Brazilian model and actress Valentina Sampaio makes history as the first trans woman to model for Victoria’s Secret. She took to Instagram to post a behind-the-scenes look at her photoshoot for VS Pink, which is the brand’s more playful and youthful line.
