Kim Possible has officially been casted and unfortunately Christy Carlson Romano isn’t reprising her iconic role.

I actually don’t know what I’m more upset about: the fact that Christy isn’t playing Kim Possible or that I wasn’t asked to audition for the role.

Fans of the Kim Possible series have been holding their breaths ever since it was revealed that the beloved Disney Channel show would be getting a live-action movie. Well now it’s time for everyone to breathe a sigh of relief because the new KP and Ron Stoppable have finally been revealed.

This incredible news was all revealed by none other than the original cast of the series Christy Carlson Romano and Will Friedle. And like everything Disney does, this was not your average announcement. It all started with a silly audition scenario where Christy and Will tried to convince the casting directors that they’re still young enough to reprise their famous DC roles.

Unfortunately, that didn’t work out too well for them. Instead Christy and Will were told that it’s time to pass the baton and when they saw who they’d be passing off their iconic roles to, well, let’s just say the OG Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable definitely approved.

Now I know many people have been rooting for Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch to be cast as Kim Possible because of her perfect red hair but as you can see, the part did NOT go to her. And to anyone out there who’s made Sadie isn’t a red head, just remember that red hair dye and red wigs exist in this world. Just sayin’.

There was also no mention as to who will be playing Ron’s trusty pet sidekick Rufus the Naked Mole rat, but it is said that the live-action Disney Channel Original Movie based on the series will go into production this summer and is set to make its debut in 2019.

  1. I was hoping for Madelaine Petsch to play Kim, but she’s probably too busy with riverdale anyways ? since she won’t play Kim, then Elizabeth Gillies better play Shego !
