Attention Siwanators, there is some unfortunate Jojo Siwa news we need to discuss.
What’s up y’all? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. and if you are a true Jojo Siwa stan, you know her merch line covers everything from bows to food to scooters to makeup.
But we just found out that her makeup set she sells at Claire’s is actually dangerous.
And no, not like if looks could kill kind of dangerous, the real kind of dangerous.
The U.S. FDA revealed that the makeup kit tested positive for asbestos.
And you might be wondering, what’s asbestos?
Right at first, I wondered the same thing, but after a quick google search I found out that it’s a highly toxic material that can be used in plastic and if it is ingested or inhaled it is incredibly dangerous and can even cause cancer.
Yikes, that is certainly not something anyone would want to put on their body. And this product is marketed to young girls, so I hope everyone who has used it is ok!
The FDA issued a warning to stop using the makeup kit in question, which contains eyeshadow, two lip glosses, and nail polish.
Thankfully you don’t have to worry about accidentally buying it now because it was quickly recalled from all of Claire’s stores.
The FDA tweeted quote, “Today, the FDA is releasing new results from its continued testing of cosmetic products for asbestos & is warning consumers to not use 2 additional products that have tested positive for asbestos & have been recalled”
So why on earth would this be in Jojo’s makeup kits? Honestly I have no idea, but after this and finding out that Kylie’s walnut scrub could essentially shred my skin, I think I need to throw away all my beauty products.
Going all natural for the foreseeable future.
And while Jojo hasn’t made an official comment, plenty of people online are chiming in about the recall.
One person wrote quote, “Oh come on JoJo! I except MoreMore!! @itsjojosiwa”
And others are asking her to speak out about the controversy. One person said quote, “@itsjojosiwa hey.when are you gonna address your makeup products having asbestos??”
So, if you want to look like Jojo, for now I’d ditch the makeup and just stick to the bows.

I think her manager or parent should respond. Shes a minor and probably has a lot to do with the style and colors and all that but how much does she really know about what goes into the products? Not saying that this isnt a big issue, because it is. But I just dont think jojo herself needs to be the one to speak publicly or try to fix the situation. Much love to everyone ❤?
