The rumors started last month when The Sun reported that Jade had been in talks to play Jasmine in the Aladdin live action. An insider told The Sun QUOTE – “Jasmine is Jade’s perfect role, so she’s delighted to have got this far in the process. The talks have been going on for some time now and the longer they go on, the better her chances are looking.” The source went on to say that although it would be an awesome opportunity for Jade, taking upon such a large role would of course take up a lot of her time for filming and promotion once the film is completed leaving little time for Little Mix duties. But the source added that the girls have their fingers crossed for their friend.
In a recent interview at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, Jade addressed the rumors.
If it is true, it wouldn’t be the first time Jade has put her acting chops to good use. A throwback clip has recently surfaced online of Jade acting in a short film and she’s pretty good! Check out baby Jade doing her thing.
It’s a 13 minute short called Skins that you can find on Youtube if you want to see more! The shorts creator, Gary Moore, spoke out about what it was like working with Jade saying QUOTE – “She was the nicest person to work with. Ohmygod! Who cares what skin type she has? I mean, the producer or whoever is responsible for selecting the right actors would no doubt be choosing what they think will benefit the movie thus it might not be correct one, but it will be the right or best character fit. Give them a break! If ya’ll think you’re better than them, then by all means, go produce and start your own Aladin movie!
