16-year-old Jacob just released a new track called “We’re Not Friends”, and it sounds like he pulled inspiration from his past relationship with ‘Stranger Things’ star Millie Bobby Brown for the lyrics.

On “We’re Not Friends”, Jacob sings from the point of view of a guy who clearly feels stuck in the “friend zone”. But if you listen closely to the chorus, it sounds like he might also be throwing some shade at Millie’s friendship with Drake. Take a listen.

While Jacob doesn’t directly call out Millie OR Drake in the song, the clues are all there. 14-year-old Millie innocently gushed about her friendship with Drake on the Emmys red carpet back in September. She called the 32-year-old a QUOTE “great friend and a great role model”, and revealed that he texts her advice about boys. Hence why fans thinks Jacob’s lyrics “Do you think I really wanna hear about him? / Girl I wanna give you more than good advice”, might be referring to Millie’s friendship with the rapper.

The news of Millie texting with 32-year-old Drake made more than a few headlines at the time, but Millie quickly defended the friendship on her Instagram Story, writing QUOTE, “Why u gotta make a lovely friendship ur headline? U guys are weird…for real. I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance.”

Jacob and Millie dated for about 8 months before splitting back in July. The teen stars announced their breakup on social media, assuring fans that the split was amicable and that they would remain friends.

We’re pretty sure that Jacob’s upcoming EP will reveal more about the relationship, as Vulture reports that most of the songs are QUOTE “said to be about Brown”.

Alright guys now I wanna hear your thoughts on this — do you think Jacob is referring to Millie’s friendship with Drake in the lyrics? And what do you think of the song as a whole? Sound off with all your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
