Many Hollywood stars have called on Congress for tighter gun control after a school shooting left 17 dead in Parkland, Florida.
Expelled student, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz committed the shooting in Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with an AR-15 assault rifle – making it the 18th gun-related incident in a US school this year.
Reese Witherspoon, Kim Kardashian, and Ellen DeGeneres have since all called on Congress for stricter gun legislation.
The ‘Big Little Lies’ actress tweeted she was “heartbroken over the news” and urged people “to do more” to prevent these shootings.
Kim Kardashian implored Congress saying “prayers won’t do this: action will” while Ellen DeGeneres said her heart was with the parents and students the school.
