Did The Weeknd Write «Party Monster» Song About Selena Gomez? – Fans Speculate Song Lyrics

Selena & The Weeknd’s big date night may have come out of left field to many, but a potential song lyric written about her may suggest otherwise…

Although Selena Gomez planned on ‘laying low’ and ‘staying out of the spotlight’ come 2017, that New Year’s Resolution may have just been crushed all thanks to a little thing called THE WEEKND. Naturally, fans of the two began to use their best investigative skills to trace any prior signs of romance between the two, and what they found was the farthest thing from ‘subtle’…

After taking a look at the Weeknd’s lyrics off of his track “Party Monster” from his most recent Starboy album, they quickly associated the lyrics, “Like Selena, ass shaped like Selena,” with his new possible flame Selena Gomez, for obvious reasons, of course.

Many have tweeted their reaction to the recent findings, saying things like QUOTE, “plot twist: ‘like selena, ass shaped like selena’ lmao it was actually about selena Gomez”, however others are questioning how the song could possibly be about Selena Gomez when the album was released in November and was likely recorded months before that. The investigation continued when video footage surfaced of Selena and The Weeknd performing onstage together during the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where at one point he even bowed down to her.

Still, many others are sticking with their strong belief that his lyrics were specifically meant to reference the late iconic singer Selena Quintanilla (whom Selena Gomez is named after). One user even attached photos of Selena, writing QUOTE, “let’s get this straight. bc yall on some dumb shit. the «ass shaped like selena» lyric is about the queen. not selena gomez”. Another user suggested that the lyrics were suitable for both stars, saying, “The Weeknd was def talking abt Selena Quintanilla when he said «ass shaped like Selena» but Selena Gomez hit him up n he let her rock.”

So whatever the actual truth may be, Selena and Abel will most likely continue to do as they please… like make out in public, but right now I’m curious to know what you guys think about Abel’s song lyric… do you think it was meant to reference Selena Gomez, Selena Quintanilla or both?
