You know, they always say, ‘good things must come to an end,’ but this is the one time we wish that phrase wasn’t true.
It’s the end of the dynamic OG Smosh duo as we know it. It’s been revealed in not one, but two heartbreaking YouTube videos that Anthony from Smosh AKA one half of Ian and Anthony is leaving the channel. The announcement was made on both Anthony’s personal channel and Smosh early Wednesday morning.
In Smosh’s video, both the co-creators of the channel revealed that Anthony leaving isn’t because of any animosity or feud between the two. It was just simply time for Anthony to spread his wings and create his own content.
And as a true friend, Ian is giving Anthony his full support. Although it wasn’t supposed to be a sad video because obviously the two are still friends and will find time to hang out with each other, it still made all of us tear up because of this montage of all the good times they had together.
In his own video, Anthony gave fans a deeper explanation as to why he left Smosh now that it is owned by a company. The YouTuber revealed that QUOTE, ‘Smosh being a part of a company has put all of my creative decisions through a filter of what’s appropriate for the Smosh brand as deemed by the company.”
Anthony went on to explain that because of that, he needed to go out and do his own thing.
Of course walking away from something he made his with best friend in high school is terrifying, but something tells us Anthony is going to be just fine.

It’s sad, but I understand why he left . Smosh truly started going downhill once they added all the new people smosh was just fine the way it was with just anthony and ian.
tbh Smosh already died down a few years back
