The highly anticipated and possibly ‘most controversial’ season of the Bachelor premiered last night, and Nick Viall is ready for his chance at love… but that doesn’t come without a little bit of drama.
So if you’ve never been taught to ‘never give up on love,’ Nick is about to show us a thing or two on how it’s done, because fourth time’s a charm, right?
It’s a new year and four-time Bachelor alumn Nick Viall is ready for a new start and a new chance at love. During last night’s premiere of The Bachelor, Nick was greeted with car loads of 30 potential bachelorettes, and boy was last night quite a show! The episode kicked off with Nick’s intro, featuring many shirtless scenes and six pack abs, so we were off to a great start… until the pick-up lines, questionable jobs and wave of red dresses hit us almost as hard as Josephine’s slap to Nick’s face in the season preview.
The ladies brought their A-game and their D-cups last night and although many seemed to have it together this season more than ever, with jobs that actually earned an income, like an attorney, a business owner and a neonatal nurse, one occupation that seemed plausible only in our wildest dreams was the aspiring dolphin trainer. One bachelorette, Alexis, arrived out of the limo wearing the infamous ‘left shark’ costume circa Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Half Time show debut…
Nick appeared speechless at first, but later becomes invested in the outfit, claiming that she’s not a dolphin… SHE’S A SHARK.
But the weirdness only begins to scratch the surface… Animals seemed to be a popular choice last night when one contestant arrived on the hump of a camel. The entire house seemed envious of the crafty entrance, but it wasn’t until sweet Lacey opened her mouth, and everything went south.
And speaking of god-awful-fingernails-on-a-chalkboard-cringe-worthy pickup lines, don’t worry, because there’s plenty more where that came from. Josephine presented Nick with an uncooked hotdog inside a book, and the line, “You’re a weiner in my book,” Jamie used her septum nose ring to kick off her line, “I’ve got balls,” Taylor relayed the message to Nick that all her friends think he’s a piece of shit, and Lauren who took a jab at Nick’s last name…
THAT’S NOT HIS FAULT, LAUREN. But one contestant, who was quick to make all the girls’ shitlist, making her mark as this season’s Olivia when she went in for an awkward, not-so-subtle kiss with Nick, was Corinne… the 24-year-old multi-million dollar business owner who’s nanny packs her lunch every day.
But hey, she may surprise us? And as more women walked through the mansion doors last night, one notably awkward detail they were ALL quick to pick-up on was the red-dress theme. Although no red dress was the exact same, the girls seemed rather mortified that 12 out of the 30 of them donned.
